I'm a girl from West Seattle who married a boy from Spokane, and together we are living our life with our sweet children, James and Juliet

A few months ago, Brian visited his family in Nebraska and he came home with a beautiful family heirloom. Brian's great grandmother's lace dress has been passed down from girl to girl, and Juliet got her chance to try it! Every time a new daughter is born the dress is lent to her for a picture opportunity. The dress is so fragile and beautiful that I was terrified to have Juliet in it for too long (and she was not really feeling like posing for the camera), but at least we got a couple shots. I just love traditions like this and am so happy she had a chance to (ever so gently) wear the dress.

(Because the dress is so faint, a blue undergarment has since been added to really showcase the lace. It really is almost paper-like. Beautiful, but fragile!)

Most of the time J was attempting to storm off and play causing me to shout directions at B to keep her corralled and entertained.

Then she cried because we wouldn't let her leave the room.

The lighting in my room was awful and so we headed downstairs. Of course Juliet began to play which nearly caused a heart attack in me. As much as I love this dress and seeing Juliet in it, I was so relieved to get her out of it because I was just terrified the fragile lace would tear.

Thank you to Brian's Aunts for lending us this beautiful heirloom.
