I'm a girl from West Seattle who married a boy from Spokane, and together we are living our life with our sweet children, James and Juliet

Another month has flown by and our sweet girl is now 15 months old. One of the things that we most love about this stage is her language comprehension. From shaking her head no when I ask if she wants to get out of the bath to going to put her diaper in the pail when we ask her to help, it just amazes us that this little person can now understand us. We find it so entertaining that we can ask her to go get something or put something away and she does it!

Juliet has such a caring and gentle side to her. She randomly gives us kisses complete with the kissing sound. She feeds her baby doll the pretend bottle and likes to pat and kiss her too. She shares her food with her dolls and toys, and today she even tried to give the cow on her placemat some of her turkey.

Juliet loves puzzles, sorting, legos, photos, and books. I think J gets a bit of her organizing from me because she can spend quite a bit of time emptying out a cupboard or some cards from a bag only to put them all back in again and then start it all over. I love reading with her and now we can actually sit and get through a pile of books together. At the moment some of her favorites are: Brown Bear, Spot, Little People, and any book with real pictures of animals and babies. Juliet's current obsession is watching the little videos of herself that I have on my phone. She will sit so still and quiet while we play the little clips for her, and my favorite part is when she kisses herself on my phone.

We still have a hard time going to sleep alone and eating a wide variety of food, but one thing parenthood has taught me is that it all passes too quickly, so fretting over whether or not she likes sleeping or eating green food just isn't worth it. We both would rather rock her than listen to her cry it out, and at this point we see nothing wrong with sneaking spinach and other green veggies into her smoothies and casadillas.

At times I wonder if this feeling of amazement that we have over our child ever wears off a bit, but for now we are just smiling and enjoying every clap, kiss, and cuddle that we have with our sweet girl.

Happy 15 months, we love you so!
