Juliet has been asking me for a long time now to paint her nails. I was hesitant because the polish and remover aren't exactly healthy, but when she asked yesterday I finally caved.
We sat outside on the deck together and she was ever so patient and curious about it all. The cutest part was watching her creep/tip-toe around trying not to mess up her wet nails.
Now of course whenever I look at her pink little fingertips, I can only think ahead to her older years and imagine my little girl all grown. I try to be in the moment, to not dwell too much on the past or dream about the future, but it sure is hard not to wonder about who this little person will become.
And I don't know why painting one's toes seems like such a milestone because this small moment with my little girl sure is significant and one I will never forget.
