I'm a girl from West Seattle who married a boy from Spokane, and together we are living our life with our sweet children, James and Juliet

My mom is such a reminder for me to slow down. I always am moving myself and the children from one thing to the next as quickly as possible. We eat lunch, then we immediately get ready to do something else, then I get J started with an activity so I can clean, etc. I feel like I rarely just sit and play anymore without something on mind (prep for dinner, fold clothes, etc). It is kind of sad. What made me think about all this was the scene I walked into after work this week. Juliet was washing dishes and couldn't be happier. "I'm washing my dishes, Mommy!!!" My mom always lets her wash her dishes after lunch, I, however, wouldn't even think of this because it would take too long or get too messy. This moment though serves as a little wake up call to myself to stop and smell the roses, or just let my sweet girl scrub some dirty plates because we all know this is not going to last long.

Oh, and yes she is wearing a bib. Not for eating, but to keep her clothes dry while she washes. She just melts my heart.
