I'm a girl from West Seattle who married a boy from Spokane, and together we are living our life with our sweet children, James and Juliet

My mother started vacationing in Birch Bay as a child, and spent every summer there with her siblings and cousins. Once she started her own family, her and my dad bought a condo there so that we too could make our own memories. And now Juliet has been officially introduced to the funky little beach town that we hold dear to our hearts. It was a quick little visit for us, but we packed in trips to the homemade candy store, swimming, beach time, and of course family time.

The water in the bay goes out really far every day making it perfect for beach combing and sand castling building, but we seemed to miss the low tide this time around. J, however, could have cared less and loved the rocky beach at high tide.

Juliet had her first taste of candy and couldn't get enough of Hudson's sour patch kids.

She also had her first taste of my hot fudge sundae. Somehow this child of mine isn't really into ice cream, so it wasn't a huge hit.

After watching her cousins fill their candy bags, I let her have her own bag and she got to pick two colors of jelly beans.

While eating ice cream and candy is a big part of Birch Bay, I can't wait until she is a little older and we can add campfires, water slides, bike rides, and go-carts to the mix. But until then, our adventures to the pool, beach and sweet store are just perfect for our little family.
