I'm a girl from West Seattle who married a boy from Spokane, and together we are living our life with our sweet children, James and Juliet

Last week I attempted Juliet's annual birthday photo, and I learned a few things:

1) Snapping a photo of an almost one year old that can't walk is way easier than an almost two year old that can walk and tell you, "No!"

2)Candy works wonders

3)Photography is still really hard (especially when you are 39 weeks pregnant and it is 90 degrees outside)

4)Giving props, like balloons, to a toddler isn't a smart idea

5)Trying to take pictures at a beach with swings and rocks really isn't a smart idea

I went in wanting to get a particular shot (which I didn't get), and ended up chasing J (again in 90 degree heat) desperately trying to get a decent photo. Oh well, you lose some and you win some. But here is a little sneak peak of what we were up to last week.

On a good note, I had a wonderful assistant that I couldn't have done it without! One thing I love about B is that 99 percent of the time, he is onboard with all my projects that I have dreamt up and want him to help me tackle.

  1. I know you didn't get the shot you wanted but you should be pretty proud of your photog skills. These are amazing! If you weren't 9 mo. pregnant I would try to hire you!
