On Saturday, as we all gathered to celebrate my Mom's birthday, I was thinking about the life we are creating for Juliet. I grew up surrounded by cousins, and we were able to come and go into each other's homes as if they were our own. And this past weekend, as we plopped down on the bench in the restaurant, Gavin offered to let Juliet sit on his lap if we needed more room. Then Sadie and Stella showered Juliet with hugs and kisses when they saw her. Knowing she is developing the same connection with her cousins as I had with mine makes me feel happy and lucky. My childhood memories with my cousins are something I will always treasure, and it is something I hope for Juliet to have as well.
