Our sweet girl has been sleeping through the night (Hollaaa) for awhile, but has been funny about her daytime naps. She is usually up for an hour, sleeps for an hour, up for an hour, sleeps for an hour, etc. This works to be 5 one hour naps instead of 3 longer ones, which makes it really hard to do much during the day. This week, she sometimes only slept for 30 minutes at a time! Our nanny (who is also a doula and knows a ton about infants) suggested swaddling J during the day to help her sleep longer. You see J wakes up and thinks it is play time. She just loves her feet so she gets herself all excited and then we have to go in and try and rock her back to sleep. Our nanny said that the swaddle might help her be less distracted. This scared me at first because J does not like to be swaddled, but I tried it today. Of course she resisted at first, but once I started rocking her she fell asleep. It has been 45 minutes, so lets hope this trend continues.
