Juliet's current obsession is watching Sesame Street YouTube videos. Her favorite one is Katy Perry's sings Hot N Cold with Elmo. I am not sure why, but that is the one she always scrolls to and barely blinks until it ends. While I try to limit her screen time, I figure a few Sesame Street videos can't hurt too much. We usually watch for a few minutes in the morning, which is just fine with me because it means we get an extra 10 minutes in bed.
She is still quite the helper and can load an entire load in the wash for me. She also loves to help put away clothes and towels after I fold them. (I just have to be careful that she doesn't keep going and then transfer them back to the wash, which she likes to do if I step away.)
She is much more mobile, jumping, walking on tiptoes, climbing on park toys, and tumbling on our bed at any chance she can get. Juliet has become a climber and will climb or attempt to climb just about anything.
While we are still waiting ever so patiently for her to speak a few more words, she definitely understands most of what we say to her, and we still feel amazed that this little person gets us now. And although she isn't speaking many actuall words, she loves to shake her head no to us throughout the day.
Juliet still loves her play kitchen and her books, especially ones with babies, real photographs, or dogs.
She is quite attached to me at the hip, but I know it won't last forever, so I try and remind myself that when I make a smoothie or dinner one handed. Besides getting upset when I can't hold her, there is not much that gets her down. Her temperment has stayed calm and sweet.
Happy 17 months, Juliet!
