Sleep update.
We are still rocking J to sleep (no surprise there), but new developments (good and bad) have happened! The good news is that Juliet is sleeping for her whole nap and most nights in her own crib. For about two months she had started waking up in the middle of naps and the night. Of course she needed us to get her back to sleep (which happened immediately after picking her up), but when we tried to transfer her back to the crib, she would wake up and fuss. So out of pure laziness we brought her in bed with us or laid her to nap on our bed. Not ideal, but it worked. Well, I am happy to say she is back in her crib and is taking one long nap in the afternoon. The bad news is that this week she has begun fighting nap time again. She hands me her paci and tries to get down from my lap. If that doesn't work she just plays with my face (as I pretend to sleep in the rocking chair). On a few days I was so desperate for her to take a nap that I did the whole lets go for a drive thing, which always does the trick (and luckily I can move her from the car to her bed without her waking).
At times I think to myself what am I doing driving my 17 month old in the car to get her to sleep? How did I become that parent? I read too many books and articles out there on sleep, babies, etc. so why didn't I sleep train? But what I have learned though is that with time it all passes. The good and the bad. And it all goes by so quickly, so I know before long we will be back again to easily falling asleep. You learn so much being a parent and watching your child grow. And although we still rock her to sleep, I know now that soon this chapter will be over and I will long for the day that she will want to sit and just lay with me. So for now we continue on this road and try not to grow up too fast.

yep that sums it up! you said it perfectly!
