I'm a girl from West Seattle who married a boy from Spokane, and together we are living our life with our sweet children, James and Juliet

This past weekend we headed down to Cannon Beach for a little vacay with our good friends, Gina and Rob. It was baby Max and Juliet's first trip to the ocean!

Our first stop was at the Wayfarer Hotel for a bite to eat. They have a beautiful ocean view deck, but the highlight was learning that my daughter loves clam chowder. Who would have thought?! And she used her first restaurant cup. We marveled at how grown up she seemed while drinking water from the cup. Of course she eventually dumped the contents out onto her clothes, but she was so proud!

Next up was the ocean. We walked for a bit while Juliet napped. In fact almost all her naps for the weekend were done this way. There is nothing like sleeping next to the sounds and smells of the ocean.

In the mornings we had coffee and shared homemade marionberry wheat scones (which J also loved) at this adorable art gallery that had a coffee house. We stumbled upon it early one morning looking for a coffee. We quickly learned that everyone in Cannon Beach likes to sleep in (except Juliet), but thankfully we found one shop that opened early.

Juliet also went in her first jacuzzi. Sort of. The cabin only had a standing shower, so we just plopped her bathtub in the jacuzzi and went to town. On a side note, the giant mirrored jacuzzi was one of the weirdest (and scariest) design choicest I have ever seen. It must have taken up a third of our little cabin. I pray that guests really don't use that thing.

We played with Max. J was quite interested in Max and liked to gently touch him.

Surprisingly Juliet likes sand. She cries if we sit her on grass, so I assumed she would hate sand, but it looks like she is a beach girl.

Sweet baby Max. Only 5 weeks old!

I hope I don't look this tired all the time. Sometimes I wish I had more pictures of Juliet and me, but maybe it is better I am the one usually behind the camera.

We shared the most delicious s'mores dessert!

Ah, sunglasses. Much better. :)

Cannon Beach has always been a favorite place for our family for as long as I can remember, so of course there is nothing better than introducing it to our sweet girl.
