my birthday

Yesterday was one of my favorite birthdays to date. There was not a large celebration or an enormous gift, but instead just a day filled with some of my favorites and a feeling of being so happy with the way life is. Early yesterday morning, as I rocked my baby back to sleep, I felt more content than I have ever before (and it was 5:30 in the morning). As I watched my girl sleep I thought how I have every thing I need right here, right now (it was nice knowing I had Bakery Nouveau waiting on the counter downstairs). And yes, I was thrilled to get my photography class and a card from my husband (which is very rare!), a cupcake from Cupcake Royal, a bouquet of hyacinths, and did I mention a card from B, but they are just extras and I would still feel as happy without them. They are just the icing on my 31st birthday cake. Speaking of cakes. I am very excited to make my very first homemade cake this weekend for my brother, sister, and brother-in-law's birthdays.
