grey, please
I stepped out of my comfort zone and picked pattern and color for J's room. Crazy. Wild. As much as I am looking forward to seeing the final pieces this summer, I can't help but to be drawn to whites, greys, etc. After looking at this room, how can one not!!

I especially love the pagoda wall decal. I bagged the idea of doing a tree or bird one because they are just all over the place now, but this makes me want to find something similar.
And the seagreen touches are just beyond perfection.
I think I could move into this room.
our big baby girl
At my appointment last week, my doctor was a little surprised by my measurements. After measuring three times, she finally said that my bump was bigger than it should be at this point. The doc said it could be that the baby is just in a funny position and causing my tummy to protrude a little or that I could have excess fluid. The latter did not sound good, but she quickly reassured me that if baby J was a big baby, than there is more fluid in the uterus for her move around comfortably. She scheduled me for a third trimester ultrasound/fetal measurement screening just to make sure everything was looking good in there.
When I mentioned to the doctor that B and I were both big babies, her response was that she has seen a correlation between the father’s birth weight and the baby’s. Brian was 10 lbs, 15 oz. Yes, that number is correct.
Well, I was actually thrilled to get another ultrasound because it meant one more look at our little bean before d-day.
Fast forward a week...I had my ultrasound yesterday and we found out some fun facts. The nurse’s first comment was that J already had chubby cheeks! (These pictures don't do her justice.) In one of the shots we also saw a ton of weird fuzz around her head. It turns out that she also has a head full of hair. What color it is, I have no idea. I imagine her with my color, but B was a blond for the first few years, so I could have a blond baby. Weird.
Once the doctor had a chance to look at the baby's measurements, we were told that she is in the 93rd percentile! She already weighs close to 4 lbs. I guess our little bean isn’t so little anymore. I suppose I need to start calling her my little pumpkin now.

TMI
My bladder is out of control. At times I swear J is actually able to kick or stand on it. My pregnancy has been quite easy and comfortable, so I feel a little guilty complaining, but last night was ridiculous. Perhaps if my bed looked like this I could make it for two whole straight hours of uninterrupted sleep.

Although I vowed not to buy prints for J's room until it is in the final stages, and let's be honest here, right now her room consists of a desser, an ironing board, and gift bags full of clothes, I can't help but begin the search. Since it takes me months to pull the triger on home decor, I figure if I start now I might decide on something for her room by the time she is one. If only there were not so many options on Etsy.

pouf
I am kind of loving the idea of a little pouf for J's room.
It can also work as an extra seat for the living room or as a cushion for me to prop up my feet during feedings. Now I just need to find a faux leather budget friendly version. With the whole Bohemium decor trend happening right now I doubt it will be too difficult.
baby shower
Today, my work held my first baby shower packed full of delicious food, friends, pink, cake, gifts, and more pink. One of the gifts was our little bean's crib! (Although I found out today that she is not very little. More on that to come later.)
It will be here some time next week and I can't wait! I love the fact that it is a covertible and has a little drawer under the crib skirt for extra storage. This Walmart (gasp) purchase is surprisingly ecofriendly. The solid wood and wood veneer construction means no toxic VOCs. Plus, you can't beat Walmart's prices.
One of my other favorite gifts is the Baby Bjorn Organic Carrier. B looks good doesn't he!
Two and a half more months until she is inside that carrier. Crazy.

fabric

This picture had me swooning over the drapes and the pop of yellow from the chair. My own are being sewn up as we speak and I can't wait to see them next month. The pink little wall magnets are also a nice touch. I can't decide if I want to use white ones or not-they seem to be a little played out now, but they are so sweet.
